Cookie Policy

How website storage and related technologies support platform functions, preferences and optional features.

Cookie Policy

Necessary technologies, optional categories and browser controls.

Clear terms.
Practical information.

1. What this policy covers

This Cookie Policy explains how cookies and similar technologies can be used in connection with the Bexford Automata website. It describes the purposes of the main categories, how platform features may affect them and how you can make choices. Personal information associated with these technologies is also covered by our Privacy Policy.

The technologies present on a particular visit depend on the website platform, enabled features, your device and any permissions you have given. We distinguish technologies required to deliver a requested function from optional features that require a separate choice under applicable law. Access to the service information is not conditional on accepting advertising tracking.

2. Cookies and related technologies

A cookie is a small record stored by a website in a browser. It can help the website recognize a session, remember a selected preference or associate a request with an earlier visit. A session cookie normally expires when the relevant browser session ends. A persistent cookie remains for a stated period or until it is deleted, subject to browser controls.

Similar technologies include browser local storage, session storage, pixels and identifiers used by website services. Local storage can retain a browser preference without being a cookie. A pixel can communicate that content has been loaded. These technologies are assessed according to their purpose and effect, rather than only the name of the technology.

A first-party technology is set or operated in the website’s own context. A third-party technology involves another service. The distinction alone does not determine whether consent is needed: the purpose, the information involved and applicable law also matter.

3. Necessary website functions

Necessary technologies support website delivery, security, session integrity, load management and the operation of a function you have requested. They may also remember whether you have made a privacy choice so that the site can apply that choice. The hosting platform may use technical identifiers to distinguish valid requests, prevent harmful activity or provide a stable session.

These functions are different from optional advertising or audience measurement. Where a technology is strictly necessary under applicable law, it may operate without a separate optional consent. You can still control it through your browser, although disabling all cookies or storage can interfere with the relevant function.

4. Optional categories

CategoryPurpose when enabledChoice
Functional preferencesRemember an optional website preference or improve a selected feature beyond the essential operation of the page.Subject to the relevant controls and any consent requirement.
AnalyticsUnderstand website usage, such as which information is viewed or whether a page has a technical problem.Used only with the permissions required for the enabled service.
MarketingMeasure a campaign or support advertising functions if such features are introduced.Optional and subject to any required consent and opt-out rights.

This table describes categories; it is not a claim that every category is active on this website. A service is not enabled simply because it is listed here. Any optional feature must be configured and disclosed according to what it actually does.

5. Shopify platform features

This website is designed to operate on Shopify. Shopify and enabled platform features may use technologies needed to host the site, handle sessions, apply customer privacy choices and maintain security. The platform’s privacy configuration, installed applications and merchant-selected features can affect the technologies present.

Where a cookie banner or preference panel is available, it should describe and apply the relevant choices for the enabled services. Optional tracking that requires consent should remain inactive until that consent has been given. A project inquiry does not create permission for unrelated marketing tracking. Browser preferences and applicable privacy signals may also affect what the platform is permitted to do.

6. Choosing and changing preferences

If a consent banner is presented, you can use its controls to accept optional technologies, reject them or select the categories offered. You can change an optional choice through the available preference controls. Withdrawing consent affects future use; it does not undo processing that lawfully occurred before withdrawal.

Where a preference control is not available for your visit, you can manage cookies and storage through your browser and contact us with a specific privacy request. A browser-based preference may apply only to the browser or device where you set it. Clearing cookies, using a new browser profile or switching devices may cause the site to ask for your choice again.

We do not interpret continued browsing as a substitute for affirmative consent where the law requires such consent. Rejecting optional cookies should not prevent you from reading our service information. Some optional features may be unavailable if their related technology is disabled.

7. Browser and device controls

Most browsers allow you to view, block or delete cookies, restrict third-party cookies and control stored website data. Some also offer private browsing, tracking protection and permissions for individual sites. The names and locations of these controls vary by browser and version. Your browser’s help or privacy settings explain the options available on your device.

Blocking all storage can affect necessary sessions or saved privacy choices. Private browsing does not guarantee that a hosting provider receives no technical information: an IP address and request details may still be needed to deliver a page. Deleting a cookie removes that browser copy but does not automatically delete separate business records already lawfully held.

Where applicable law requires recognition of a supported universal opt-out signal, the relevant platform and services should apply that signal to the covered processing. A browser’s “Do Not Track” setting is not necessarily the same technology as a legally recognized opt-out preference signal.

8. Duration and information involved

The lifetime of a cookie or identifier depends on its purpose, platform settings and provider. Some exist only during a session; others remain until their expiry or deletion. Preference information may need to remain long enough to apply your choice. Optional measurement or marketing identifiers, where enabled, must be assessed according to their actual retention and disclosure requirements.

Information associated with a cookie can include a random identifier, a session reference, a preference value, a device or browser characteristic or a record of a website interaction. It should not be assumed that a random identifier is always anonymous. When information can be linked to an identifiable person or device under applicable law, the relevant privacy protections apply.

9. Providers and connected business tools

Enabling another website application can introduce its own technologies. A provider’s role, purpose and handling of information should be reviewed before its optional features are used. Technologies used within a client’s own business systems are separate from technologies on this public website and are governed by the relevant project arrangements and provider terms.

Configuring an integration for a client does not itself give us permission to place that client’s tracking technologies on this website or use website visitor information in the client’s systems. The purpose and permitted data flow must be agreed for the particular service.

10. Updates and contact

We may revise this policy when website functions, platform settings or legal requirements change. The effective and updated dates at the top identify the current version. If a new optional purpose requires a new choice, updating this text alone does not replace that choice.

If you have a question about a cookie, a stored preference or a privacy signal, contact us with the page involved, your browser and the category of concern. Please do not send passwords or a full browser data export. A limited description is usually a better starting point for reviewing the issue.
